With your support, our youth have reached meaningful milestones—improving in school, discovering new passions, and building confidence. Now, we’re kicking off Words & Wonders, our summer literacy and arts program designed to spark joy, creativity, and learning for the children we serve. Through this program, every child enrolled in Friends of the Children – Houston will experience: Mentorship and encouragement from a dedicated professional mentorBooks that reflect their identities and interestsInteractive reading activities, book clubs, and storytelling workshopsCreative arts projects, including painting, music, performance, and writingExciting outings to museums, libraries, and cultural institutionsOutdoor learning experiences that inspire curiosity and exploration For children impacted by adversity, these aren’t just fun activities—they’re opportunities for healing, growth, and belonging.
