An Invitation That Keeps Giving
We were honored to once again be invited as special guests of Simone Biles to the Biles Invitational, hosted by the World Champions Centre. This marked the second year Simone has welcomed our youth and families to her annual event, creating an experience that went beyond attendance and made everyone feel truly included.
This year, Marisol* and her mom joined us alongside Marisol’s mentor, Lawren, and our Operations Manager, Barbara. From the energy of the competition to the excitement of seeing elite athletes up close, the day left a lasting impression. Marisol and her family also had the chance to meet Simone, a moment that meant the world to them.
Simone’s connection to our work runs deep. Growing up in Houston and having firsthand experience in the foster care system, she understands the impact of consistent support and caring adults. Her advocacy played a meaningful role in bringing long-term, relationship-based mentoring to youth in our city, and she continues to show up in ways that reflect that commitment.
By opening her invitational to our youth and families, Simone demonstrates what it means to lead with intention. Moments of belonging, encouragement, and recognition can shape how young people see themselves and their futures. We’re grateful to Simone for continuing to create space for our community and for reminding our youth that they belong in rooms like these.
