Staff: Neftali Mojica

Neftali Mojica was born and raised in Houston, TX. A graduate of the University of Houston and the first of his family to attend college, Neftali focused on Psychology where he found his passion for child development through his first role as an Assistant Teacher at a Montessori School.

While working as an assistant teacher, the child centered approach and use of positive reinforcement techniques made a strong impression on Neftali and led him into the world of education where he taught Math and Science for students of varying backgrounds and needs within Houston ISD. Neftali spent 4 years as an educator and earned himself the distinction of Teacher of the Year in his second year serving his community. It was during his educational career that Neftali discovered that his passion lied in helping the whole child and is excited to be joining Friends of the Children Houston in doing just that.
