Charles "Coach" Brown

Charles Brown is a Founding Friend of the Friends of the Children - Houston team and a staple in the Houston, Texas community. His passion, purpose and career has been spent building up troubled youth and serving within the community.

Charles has worked as a supervisor at numerous youth centers: Texas Youth Commission Crockett State School for 5 years; Southwest Key Residential Treatment Center for 3 years; and Sheltering Harbour Residential Treatment Center for 2 years. Charles furthered his passion within the Aldine Independent School District working with Adaptive Behavior children and coached football, basketball and girls track for 25 years. Charles recently retired from Aldine ISD on June 4, 2023 and began is "missionary" work with Friends of the Children - Houston chapter, immediately following.

Charles has a bachelor's degree from the Institute of Theology and Christian Therapy and he is a Certified Christian Counselor. He is a certified fitness trainer, gym owner, and boasts many accolades as a professional bodybuilder and powerlifter, holding 19 World Records. Mr. Brown is a Christian Comedian and actor that has headlined many theatre plays, and performed in small movie productions, commercials and he is a jingle writer and artist.

Mr. Brown takes pride in utilizing all of his gifts and talents throughout his work and mission. Charles is a native Houstonian and is well known for his generosity in the community - serving children and families. Mr. Brown is the eldest of 9 children, a leadership role he believes helped him prepare for the role of a Friend.
